Success Stories 

SID is supporting the National Web Server System (NatWeb), which is a major component of the USGS Geographic Information Office that provides Web security at the highest level and data and information management at the lowest appropriate level allowing for distributed management of content. 

	NatWeb provides continuous data processing support for virtual hosts serving Web content for programs and projects distributed across the country and allows for distributed management of project and program content.
	The NatWeb system of geographically distributed, mirrored systems provides USGS with a mechanism to collocate and deliver a significant portion of USGS content in a single infrastructure reducing the number of public Web servers and reducing the load on internal networks.

SID is supporting Illinois EPA's support the IEPA’s Bureau of Water (BOW) mission in response to the Safe Drinking Water and Clean Water Acts by providing an integrated user interface to public drinking water quality information. These systems include the Geographic Information System (GIS), the Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS), the Agency Compliance and Enforcement System (ACES), and the Assessment Database (ADB)
